About SIRMA

SIRMA is an Istanbul-born, New York-based singer, songwriter, and music producer working at the intersection of alt-pop, electronic, and experimental music. Since February 2026, she is the Assistant Producer for New York Public Radio’s music program, New Sounds, and the live music performance podcast, Soundcheck, on WNYC.

Sırma began her professional career as a recording artist through her collaborative singles, “Drop Our Hearts” and “Drop Our Hearts, Pt. 2”, with the Grammy-nominated EDM superstar, Illenium. Her solo works have been recognized by Entertainment Weekly, The Line of Best Fit, and Clash, though she considers the release of her first self-produced Turkish single a defining moment. Titled “Belki Bir Gün”, the song reached No. 3 on Spotify’s Viral 50 Turkey chart within a week. The following single, “Coming Undone”, made its global radio debut on Beats 1.

In 2019, Sırma launched the online course, Modern Pop Vocal Production, in collaboration with Soundfly. While developing the curriculum, she discovered her passion for music education. Since then, she has written in-depth articles and created multimedia tutorials for music technology outlets, including Roland, MusicTech, and LANDR, among others.

A Berklee-trained musician, Sırma was recruited to compose, record, produce, mix, and master original music for Meta’s Sound Collection in 2021. As an extension of her solo project, this initiative brought her songs to millions through Instagram reels shared by major brands such as Victoria’s Secret, People Magazine, UEFA Europa League, and Jeffree Star Cosmetics.  

As a vocalist, she has lent her voice to international commercial projects, including Go Türkiye’s mini-series, Istanbul My Love, as well as her sample packs for Splice and BandLab Sounds. 

Today, Sırma continues to champion adventurous music through New Sounds and Soundcheck while growing her presence as a recording artist, writer, and producer.
